Frances Suavillo, Junior Associate, Sheikh Impact

Frances is a junior associate at Sheikh/Impact where she supports the client services team. 

Before joining Sheikh/Impact, Frances served on the Board of Education for the Los Angeles Unified School District in the 2019-2020 school year. She continued her work with LA Unified through the Student Empowerment Unit where she spearheaded the adoption of various student leadership and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives including the Student Bill of Rights and the Celebration of Filipino History and Heritage Month. During her time there, she worked closely with students, families, and community partners to implement programming to increase student civic engagement and youth employment and mentorship opportunities throughout the district. 

Before moving to the South Bay in 2010, Frances lived in Manila, Philippines where she was raised by her two parents and great-grandmother, a former public school teacher, who ignited her passion for equity in public education. She is a proud graduate of the 2020 class at Carson High School and Class of 2023 graduate of Stanford University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with minors in International Relations and Philosophy. While at Stanford, she was selected as one of the inaugural Obama-Chesky Voyager Scholarship Recipients for Public Service by the Obama Foundation for her work in public education. She served as the Vice President of Programming and Collegiate Chapter President of the Delta Delta Delta sorority which led her to be named as one of Stanford's Award of Excellence honorees. 

Frances loves spending time with her family, watching Formula 1 on weekends, and trying new foods from around the world.
